The cabin at Hekla 1 was absolutely stunning! The view of the volcano and glacier was breathtaking, and it made me feel like I was in a fairytale. The kitchenette had everything I needed to cook my own meals and it was so convenient.
Personally, I found the lack of a microwave in the guestrooms a bit inconvenient. But hey, others might still enjoy cooking on the stovetop!

This cabin provided everything we needed for a nature-filled stay. the view of the surrounding mountains and green fields with sheep and Icelandic horses was stunning. the location, just off the junction of Rt 1 and Rt 26, made it easy for us to explore the area. the kitchen was well stocked, the cottage was clean, and the bed was comfortable with warm bedding. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the peaceful wanderings of the sheep, cows, and horses.
We felt incredibly taken care of with no complaints.

The value for money at Hekla Cabin 1 was excellent, and the room was so good - big, cosy, and clean. The location was perfect, with fine surroundings and easy access to the ring road. The staff treated us well, going above and beyond to accommodate us during a snowstorm and even checking up on us to make sure we were okay.
The only thing that could make breakfast better would be to have some basic necessities available, like salt, pepper, oil, tea.

The cabin at Hekla Cabin 1 was absolutely cozy and charming! It felt like a home away from home, with a kitchenette that had everything I needed - a fridge, stove, and microwave. I loved being able to cook my own meals and enjoy them in the comfort of the cabin. It made the whole experience so much more relaxed and convenient.
Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the guestrooms in the other cabins lacking microwaves. But hey, that's just my preference.

It exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect cozy retreat. The size of the cabin was spacious and the cleanliness was exceptional. We also loved the fact that it was located in a quiet area, allowing us to completely unwind and disconnect from the city noise. the instructions provided by the host were very helpful and made our stay hassle-free.
we found a lot of leftover food from previous guests, some of which was spoiled. It would have been great if the cabin had some basic necessities like salt, pepper, oil, tea, and coffee readily available.

The location of the cabin is absolutely stunning, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and lush green fields where sheep and Icelandic horses roam freely. the convenience of having a petrol station right next to the cabin is invaluable. the owner, Hulda, is friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for dinner.
The cabin may not be suitable for more than four people, as the additional sleeping arrangement on a sofa bed or mattress on the floor may not be comfortable for everyone.
